Dmitri Shostakovich · Works For Cello

Dmitri Shostakovich · Works For Cello, is a collection of some of the most challenging and intriguing works for cello by the renowned composer. The selected pieces provide a unique insight into Shostakovich's creative evolution over a 25-year period, with the Sonata and the Concert showcasing the composer's artistic development and resilience in the face of political upheaval. The works in this collection encapsulate the recognition and rejection Shostakovich faced during a turbulent period in his life, reflecting the complex atmosphere of the time. Despite the challenges he faced, Shostakovich remained devoted to his high musical ideals, which is evident in the depth and complexity of these compositions.
