Emil Ivanov has long become a famous name among the world tenor elite. He began his career in the Sofia National Opera to join soon after that the cast of the Vienna Staatsoper, on whose bill he is currently present. Vienna, on its part, was his launching board to the greatest opera stages and festivals in Europe and the United States, where he sang many times at the Metropolitan. Emil Ivanov enchants the audience with his sound, voluminous tenor, with his brilliant pitches and beautiful timbre. He is an artist of varied repertoire including mainly parts of 19th century operas by Verdi, Meyerbeer, Massenet, Bizet. Most outstanding among his performances are these from "veristic" works by Puccini, Mascagni, Leoncavallo, Giordano. For this CD the singer has chosen mainly arias which express in the best manner his musical, vocal and emotional nature.
