Many generations of Bulgarians grew up with the folk music performances of the clarinetist Petko Radev. There are also many listeners in Bulgaria and worldwide, who know Petko Radev as a classical music performer. He is equally magnificent in interpreting Bulgarian folk music and classical music and he will leave a legacy of many works recorded with his colleagues in both genres.
Petko Radev has worked with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras of our time and has given concerts in Switzerland, France, Russia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Italy, Japan, Britain, Cuba, etc. He started playing as first clarinetist of the Bulgarian National Radio Orchestra and later played in the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra. He also worked for nine years as first clarinetist of La Scala Orchestra in Milan. He has been awarded prestigious international and national awards and major Bulgarian composers wrote works for him.
This program features Petko Radev playing with some eminent musicians: pianists Maria Prinz and Nikolai Evrov, and the cellist Ventseslav Nikolov. They all have a remarkable biography and also belong to the elite of European musicians.
