The new release of Gega New presents one of Bulgaria's most talented performers - Ruzhka Tcharaktchieva. Having graduated from the State Music Academy in Sofia, the Moscow State Conservatory, and the Hochschule fur Musik in Vienna, today Ruzhka Tcharaktchieva is one of the most renowned pianists not only in Bulgaria, but also abroad. She is laureate of many prestigious European piano contests and has performed in many countries in Europe, Asia and America. Her art has been highly evaluated all over the world and she is a preferred partner for many Bulgarian and foreign instrumentalists and singers. She has recorded many works for radio and television programs in Bulgaria and Europe, and has made studio recordings for gramophone records and compact discs for a number of companies, including Gega New. Alongside her concertizing and recording activities, Prof. Tcharaktchieva devotes a great part of her time to teaching at the Pancho Vladigerov State Music Academy in Sofia. She is also a member of the jury of many academic, national, and international piano competitions. The pianist was awarded the Golden Lyra, the highest Bulgarian honour in the sphere of music, for her superior artistic and pedagogical achievements.
